Biographical Note

Iro Xenaki is a jewellery designer and artisan based in Chania, Crete. Born in 1995, she has been passionate about craftsmanship from a young age. Since 2012, she has honed her skills under the mentorship of experienced jewellery makers, gaining hands-on experience in traditional and contemporary techniques.

 
In 2013, she pursued formal studies in Italy at the Scuola d’Arte e Mestieri in Vicenza, attending the Corso ITS, a renowned program focused on the art of jewellery design and metalwork. Her time in Italy deepened her appreciation for fine craftsmanship and solidified her creative vision.
 
Upon returning to her hometown of Chania, she immersed herself in the heritage art of the Cretan Knife, a traditional symbol of Cretan culture, learning its intricate design and engraving techniques.
 
Today, Iro continues to design and create unique, handmade jewellery pieces that reflect both her Mediterranean roots and her international training. She has showcased her work in various exhibitions and remains committed to evolving her artistry while staying true to her cultural influences.
